Alexandru Mihăescu, born in 1980 in Timișoara, is an actor and director. He graduated in 2003 from the Academy of Music and Theatre in Rostock, Germany, and in 2006 he obtained a master's degree in directing from the National University of Theatre and Cinema "I.L.Caragiale" Bucharest. In 2005 he was nominated for the UNITER Theatre Association Debut Award for his role in "Cymbeline" at the German State Theatre in Timișoara, and in 2010 he received the acting award at the Saturno Film Festival in Italy for his role as Felix Goldschmidt in the feature film "The Red Gloves".
From 2020 he is again a permanent member of the ensemble at the German State Theatre Timisoara and can be seen in performances: Katzlemacher. At GSTT he directed the productions The Cosmonaut's Last Message to the Woman he once Loved in the Former Soviet Union (2006), Pool. No Water (2008) and Europa (2018).
