Ioana Iacob was born in 1980 in Timișoara. After graduating from the "Nikolaus Lenau" High School, in 2002 she graduated in acting in German at the Faculty of Music and Theatre of the West University of Timisoara.
She has been part of the ensemble of the German State Theatre in Timisoara since 2002. Since 2002 she has been a member of the ensemble of the German State Theatre of Timișoara. In recent seasons, she has appeared and continues to appear in performances of Humans. For Sale by Carmen Lidia Vidu; The Cherry Orchard by A.P. Chekhov as Liubova Andreevna Ranevskaya; A Midsummer Night's Dream after William Shakespeare as Helena; Lysistrata 3.0 by Aristophanes in the title role; TSCHICK. Why We Took the Car by Wolfgang Herrndorf as The Mother; The Theatre by Pascal Rambert as Sophie; The Dragon by Yevgeny Schwarz as The Dragon.
She worked, among others, with Radu A. Nica, Alexandru Dabija, Cornelia Crombholz, Bocsárdi László, Yuri Kordonsky, Florin Fieroiu, Vlaicu Golcea, Niky Wolcz, Volker Schmidt, Irisz Kovacs and Gábor Tompa, Pascal Rambert.
In 2016 and 2020 she briefly served as interim director of the GSTT. Repeatedly, she also took on roles at the "Auăleu" Theatre in Timisoara and the "Mihai Eminescu" National Theatre in Timisoara.
Ioana Iacob has played in several films at home and abroad, directed by Radu Jude, Christoph Hochhäusler, Radu Gabrea, Natalia Sinelnikova and Andreas Kleinert. The films have been screened at major international film festivals.
