FIREFACE – replay at the German State Theatre in Timişoara (GSTT)
Monday, March 10th, from 7 p.m., the German State Theatre in Timişoara stages again one of its acclaimed shows in recent years, Fireface, by Marius von Mayenburg, with Ioana Iacob, Alexandru Mihăescu, Georg Peetz, Isolde Cobeţ and Radu Vulpe included in the cast.

Marius von Mayenburg – one of the prominent representatives of contemporary German playwriting – received in 1997 the "Kleist" Award and the Frankfurt Literary Foundation Award. Radu Alexandru Nica, the director born in Sibiu, is a laureate of the UNITER Debut Award in 2004 as well as of various other directing awards, such as the one received from the Colloquium of the National Minorities' Theatres in Gheorgheni.

Since its premiere in 2005, the show has been successfully staged in the country (Transylvania, Bucharest, Gheogheni, etc.), as well as abroad (Croatia, Germany, Serbia).

The play depicts the everyday life of a family: the parents are limited to a dull and affectionless relationship; Kurt, the pubertal son, reads philosophy and sets the entire neighbourhood on fire, and his older sister, Olga, with whom he has an incestuous affair, tries her best to escape the restrictions of adolescence with the help of her friend, Paul.
