The 26th edition of the National Theater Festival will take place between the 21st and 30th of October 2016 in Bucharest. About the selection for 2016, the artistic director of the festival, theater critic Marina Constantinescu declared: „There’s 40 performances from all over the country, important names, but new names as well, small shows, jewels, but also grandiouse shows, theater-dance shows or dance with theater groups that are maybe at their first experience in the field, alongside established names, some renowed the contemporary dance scene. Because this festival wishes to show the value to date of the Romanian Theater.”

The performance „The Fuchsiad”, after Urmuz, it premiered at the GSTT in September 2015, winning since then two awards within the Romanian Comedy Festival – festCO: the award for best scenography and the award for best theatrical event.

„The Fuchsiad” is a performance in which the concept of space acquires a significant importance. The scenographer Helmut Stürmer, assisted by director Silviu Purcărete, through their enactment of the play "The Fuchsiad", bring an homage to the writer Urmuz and his era, which were very important to contemporary art and literature. The vast distribution features almost all of the German Theatre's actors as well as guest actors, of which there are 4 actresses from the "Csiky Gergely" Hungarian State Theatre – Timişoara. "The Little Prince" is directed by Peter Kerek, set design and costumes are by Iuliana Vîlsan, both of them celebrating their first collaboration with GSTT. The soundtrack was composed by musician Vivi Stoleriu, the dramaturgy is by Patricia Pandek. The cast features all of the actors of the GSTT. The director Peter Kerek brings this story to life through an imaginative staging and moving images, almost without words, while not altering the profound poetic character of the mentioned events. A performance for children, as well as for the adults, who have not forgotten, what it feels like to be a child.
