Two productions of the German State Theatre Timisoara
(GSTT) from 2015/2016 season have been
included in the official selection of the 2016 National Theatre Festival (FNT),
which will take place between the 21st and 30th of October 2016 in Bucharest.
The official selection was announced by critic Marina
Constantinescu, the artistic director of the festival, through a live press
conference on the 4th of July 2016 from the Theatre Union headquorters in
Romania. Thus, the stagings „The Fuchsiad” after Urmuz, a
theatrical installation imagined by Helmut Stürmer, assisted by Silviu
Purcărete and „The Little Prince” , after Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, directed by
Peter Kerek are part of the official selection of the FNT.
The National Theatre Festival, at its 26th edition in
2016, is the most representative manifestation of what national theatrical
creativity is about.
Scenographer Helmut Stürmer, assisted by director
Silviu Purcărete, brings an homage to writer Urmuz and his era with his staging of „The Fuchsiad”, an era of
utmost importance to contemporary art and literature. The sondtrack of the show
is composed by Vasile Șirli, the stage design is by Helmut Stürmer and the
costumes by Corina Grămoșteanu și Helmut Stürmer. The video projections are the
creation of scenographer Andu Dumitrescu and the masks are by Ilona Varga-Járó.
The choreography is signed by Florin Fieroiu. In its numerous cast most of the
actors of the GSTT cam be found, as well as guest actors, amongst which four
actresses from the Hungarian State Theater „Csiky Gergely” in Timisoara.
The direction of the show „The Little Prince” is
signed by Peter Kerek, and the scenography by Iuliana Vîlsan. The music is the
creation of composer Vivi Stoleriu, and the dramaturgy belongs to Patricia
Pandek. The cast features all the actors of GSTT. Director Peter Kerek brings
this story to life in a staging filled with fantasy and emotional imagery,
almost wordless, without altering the profound poetic character of the occurrences
mentioned. A show for children and adults that have not forgotten what it’s
like to be a child.
